The establishment of the "Alex and Andrea Enyedi Gender Equity and Social Justice Fund" is intended to benefit students, faculty, and staff of WMU in supporting academic research on topics of gender equity and social justice. The fund also seeks to develop and strengthen faculty and student leadership focused in these areas.
The Department of Gender and Women's Studies is the University's home for research and guidance on the issues of gender equity and social justice, and will benefit from the fund in the following initiatives:
- Student and faculty research that addresses gender equity and social justice
- Professional development opportunities for faculty and staff focused on the development of higher education leaders committed to gender equity and social justice
- Internships and leadership opportunities for students with a focus on gender equity and social justice
- Scholarly speakers, conferences and workshops related to advancing gender equity in higher education
