Western Michigan University news and alumni in the news for August 5 – 11, 2016. This week’s MyWMU Campus photo features the Josephine Wing Jackson Memorial Garden on the Grand Lawn of Heritage Hall. Josephine Wing Jackson was President Waldo’s first administrative assistant in 1904 and is credited for giving WMU its school colors of Brown and Gold. She was inspired by the brown-eyed Susan’s growing on campus, and made the suggestion to President Waldo.
