Air Force Coach

Air Force Coach
After spending 12 seasons as a student-athlete and coach at WMU, Jake Moreland (BBA '00, Marketing) has been named the new tight ends coach at Air Force.

The Milwaukee native guided the Bronco tight ends from 2005 through this past season.  He has coached the likes of NFL veteran Tony Scheffler and Branden Ledbetter, the tight end with more receiving TDs (20) than any other in program history.  Moreland was also responsible for recruiting 2011 Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year Drew Nowak.

Moreland lettered four seasons with the Broncos (1996-99), has caught more passes (143) than any other tight end in school history, and ranks second in receiving yards (1,414) among tight ends. Moreland earned All-MAC Second Team honors and was tabbed WMU’s Offensive MVP in 1999. Moreland made the All-MAC First Team in 1998.

In 2005, Moreland was selected to the Western Michigan Football All-Century Team.
