Solicitor General John Bursch—among several others, were recognized by NAAG for their work on the brief.
The winners were selected by a panel of eight independent Supreme Court experts, each of whom is a leading member of the Supreme Court Bar.
The winning brief was for Howes v. Fields, in which the United States Supreme Court reversed a decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and reinstated the conviction of a defendant who was found guilty of sexually abusing a child.
John Bursch is a graduate of the Lee Honors College. He majored in Clarinet Performance with a minor in Applied Mathematics.
