The play, by Horton Foote, is described as a masterpiece about memory, mortality and the undeniable, universal yearning for home.
This isn't the first time the New York Director has worked on Broadway, his resume including shows such as The Best Man and Guys & Dolls. Additionally, Alpert presents an annual concert 'Living for Today' to benefit the Gilana Shira Alpert fund, now in it's fifth year.
Alpert created the concert as a way to raise money for his sister's fund, which was established in 2007 shortly after Gilana Alpert passed away at the age of 26. Funds raised support causes that Gilana felt passionately about, including theatre education and outreach, Holocaust awareness, equality advocacy, and sex education.
