Eaton, a  global technology leader, has announced that in addition to an $8,000 gift to student engineering teams, several employees will personally mentor the Sunseeker solar race team, the Formula SAE team, and the SAE Baja team. All three teams design and develop vehicles to compete against other colleges.

Engineers from Eaton's Galesburg and Marshall facilities will provide technical and engineering support to the teams. The teams have also gained access to Eaton's Marshall Proving Grounds.

The relationship has already gained national attention, with articles appearing in World News, the Wall Street Journal online, Yahoo! Finance, and many others.

On Friday, April 26, the Sunseeker, Formula SAE, and SAE Baja teams took their vehicles to Eaton in Galesburg, MI. The teams were able to meet with Eaton staff members to discuss current projects and challenges. Pictured is a WMU Engineering student describing the Baja car to engineers at Eaton.
