Gagne Honored by CCHA
Wayne Gagne (BS '87, Physical Education) is one of 12 players selected for the CCHA's All-Time First Team. In honor of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's final season, top performers were chosen from across all 42 seasons as part of their 'Celebrate the Legacy' initiative.

Gagne played WMU Hockey from 1983-87. He was a defenseman who appeared in 162 total games, racking up 241 points on 42 goals and 199 assists—putting him at third all-time in program history. In 1986, he was on the CCHA Tournament Championship Team, and was also part of WMU's first ever NCCA Tournament Team. In his senior year he registered 89 points from the blue line, and was named CCHA Player of the Year. In 2011, Gagne took his place next to other Bronco greats in the WMU Athletics Hall of Fame.

The 'illustrious group' of 12 players were selected by a committee of coaches, administrators, and media. They join the league's All-Decade teams. All 12 players were All-Americans and graduated to professional careers.
