Western Michigan University news and update highlights from around the web for May 24 - 30, 2013. This week's campus photo features Fountain Plaza, which will be redesigned this summer. When completed, the area will feature more green space, more seating, and more shade. Existing grass and plantings will be maintained wherever possible.
Enhancements include a curved seating area that will border bermed lawn panels, lawn seating, lighting fixtures to reinforce the pathway across the plaza, and a new barrier-free access ramp. The fountain itself is also set for some updates, including the addition of a curved wall inside the fountain pool creating varying depths, a new waterfall feature, and a stone veneer on the bottom.
