Western Michigan University news and update highlights for August 1-7, 2014. This week’s campus photo features the walkway connecting Rood Hall to Everett Tower. Mathematics, statistics, and physics are located in John P. Everett Tower, which was completed in 1971. Dr. Everett joined the WMU faculty in 1914 as part of an expansion of the mathematics curriculum. He was the first Ph.D. on the mathematics faculty, and served as the head of the department from the time he arrived at Western until the time he left in 1945.
