The Sunseeker Team is heading to Texas! The 2013 Formula Sun Grand Prix is taking place in Austin, Texas from June 24-29. WMU will join 11 other teams from the U.S. and Canada to compete in the annual event that is raced on a closed track or roadway.
The image above features the 2012 Sunseeker team at a checkpoint during the 2012 American Solar Challenge. The checkpoint was situated in front of WMU's very own College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. On years when the American Solar Challenge is held, the Formula Sun Grand Prix serves as the qualifier race for that competition.
WMU began solar racing in 1990 and the team has raced 11 American Solar Race Challeneges across the country.
