Today, the Bronco Women's Soccer Team is not only celebrating the 10-year anniversary of a historic championship win, but also—a new MAC Championship win. In 2003 the women's soccer team celebrated the Broncos' first claim as MAC Tournament Champions on our own turf, resulting in our first appearance at the NCAA Tournament.
Fast forward 10 years. After a 62-minute defensive game, Ali Russo scored the winning goal to defeat Ball State, 1-0, earning the Bronco women the 2013 MAC Tournament Championship and an invitation to the National Collegiate Athletic Association College Cup.
This year, the women played a great season. They were undefeated for the first five MAC games and ended their MAC journey 7-2-2. Many accomplishments were achieved along the way including: Michelle Watson was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week and Aubrey Sudomier was named MAC Offensive Player of the Week.
