MAC Champs--Again!
The Western Michigan University Women’s Soccer team has collected their second MAC Championship in three years and third overall by defeating Miami 2-0 Sunday afternoon at the WMU Soccer Complex. Emma Kahn netted the game-winning goal in the 58th minute and Irene Young added an insurance goal in the 78th minute for the Broncos (14-3-4) who matched the program record for wins in a season.

With the championship comes a berth in the field of 64 teams to compete for the NCAA Women’s College Cup. The Broncos travel to the University of Florida Saturday to take on the second-seeded Gators in the first round. In two previous appearances, WMU has won both first-round matches including the largest upset in College Cup history by defeating second-seeded Marquette in 2013.

The game begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 14. Broadcast coverage of the game is still to be announced. If the Broncos are victorious, they will play the winner of the William & Mary vs. UCF game.
