The WMU Alumni Association Call Center is part of University Advancement at WMU. Our mission is to provide a connection between alumni/friends and the University and raise funds for WMU. We employ 15-30 Student Alumni Ambassadors and offer successful Student Fundraisers the opportunity to move into other open student positions within University Advancement.
The Alumni Association Call Center is a fun-filled atmosphere with flexible schedule availability and advancement potential.
Work shifts available:
Monday: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday: 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Wednesday: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday: 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday: 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The SAA Fundraiser must commit to a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
The fundraiser pay rate will start at $15.00 an hour with pay increases based on performance. SAA Fundraisers will complete orientation and 4 paid training sessions prior to their first fundraising shift.

SAA Fundraiser Responsibilities
- Professionally represent Western Michigan University
- Update alumni records accurately
- Build connections with alumni
- Follow the call guidelines and adhere to policies & procedures
- Inform staff of alumni concerns or requests
- Record contact outcomes precisely
- Provide comprehensive campaign information to alumni
- Solicit funds for WMU
- Maintain satisfactory evaluations post initial assessment
- Perform assigned tasks from staff

- Current student at Western Michigan University
- Balancing work and studies effectively
- Confident and enthusiastic phone demeanor

- Excellent rapport-building skills
- Handling rejection professionally
- Self-motivation and punctuality
- Quick task learning and implementation
- Clear oral communication abilities
- Familiarity with WMU facts is a plus
- Experience in relationship building, cold calling, fundraising and sales is a plus.
