Rick Cianek passed away suddenly on April 6, 2009, at the age of 54. A longtime friend to the Construction Association of Michigan (CAM), Rick served on the Board of Directors from 2004-08. He was also an active participant on the CAM Golf Committee, the Men’s Bowling Committee, and the Doubles Classic Committee. He also bowled on the CAM Afternoon League for years.
Rick had extensive experience in the construction industry. He was a past Board Member of the Masonry Institute of Michigan, Michigan Mason Contractors Association, and MIOSHA. He was a former employee of Schuster Construction Services and Superior Materials, and was most recently employed by FRACO Products.
Rick belonged to the Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree), as well as the Elks Lodge #222 in Flint. He loved fishing, golf, bowling, and boating. He is survived by his wife Denise and three children, Andrew (BS ’07), Claire (BBA ’07) and Frank (BS ’12).
Friends and family of Rick plan to honor his memory by creating a scholarship for a deserving engineering and/or marketing student at Western Michigan University.
