Dr. Joseph R. Morris came to WMU in 1984 as the first African American tenure track faculty member in the department. In his time in CECP, he has impacted the department in a number of ways.
To pay tribute to Dr. Morris’s ongoing legacy, we invite contributions to the award in his name, The Joseph R. Morris Award for Outstanding Contributions to Multicultural Counseling and Psychology. The award will provide funds to assist with the many expenses associated with doctoral studies and will be awarded to historically underrepresented doctoral students with research and leadership interests focused on issues of race and psychology.
