An 'All-Steinway' Campus

An 'All-Steinway' Campus
The School of Music turns 100 years old this year and becomes the first All-Steinway Music School at a university in Michigan. There are 118 Steinway Pianos on campus, thanks to investments made by private donors.

The impact is far reaching, as prospective students take note of the impressive instruments and the designation elevates the school to a further level of distinction.

There are just over 150 music schools, internationally, that have earned the All-Steinway destination—which requires 90% of a school's pianos be designed by Steinway & Sons.

The designation also reserves use of Steinway Hall in New York City for an annual alumni event.

Steinway & Sons was founded in New York City in 1853 and has become the choice of 97% of piano soloists performing at major venues worldwide.
