Students, or potential employees, will be identified as early as their sophomore year and receive special attention from the airline through graduation.
After a student receives their degree they will become American Eagle employees—complete with medical and travel benefits—while they work 'on loan' to WMU as flight instructors. This will allow them to accrue the required amount of flight hours before becoming employees. It also guarantees an interview with American Airlines.
