Starting Gate

Working space open 24/7, access to university resources, the opportunity to work with mentors to raise funds from investors to grow their company—all part of the venture accelerator program in which students from Western Michigan University are participating.

Profiled by Southwest Michigan's Second Wave, Starting Gate consists of several business building steps that will help students turn their ideas into a real business.

There are currently five teams in the accelerator, who will work to develop a product worthy of media attention over the summer.

The five groups include: FindersKeepers, Fish Ninja, Hypurractive, Rgroup, and XCheapSkate.
