Following the Broncos to Iowa

Following the Broncos to Iowa
Kalamazoo Gazette Columnist, David Drew, and photographer, James Buck, are following the WMU Bronco Football team to Iowa City and live-blogging their trip. Read along as David and James share their experiences with the team as they attempt to win their first of the season but third in a row against the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.

In 2000, WMU came into Iowa City with a MAC Championship-caliber team and came away with its first win over a Big Ten team in 12 years with a 27-21 victory over the Hawkeyes.

In 2007, we did it again. This time it wasn't as close as WMU grabbed a 19-0 lead and cruised to a 28-19 win. QB Tim Hiller led the way with 3 touchdown passes.

This year with Western looking for our first win and Iowa coming off a humbling loss to rival Iowa State, both teams are desperate for a victory.

The Broncos and Hawkeyes meet at noon, Saturday, Sept. 21, on the Big Ten Network. Old Burdick's at the Radisson in downtown Kalamazoo is hosting a watch party.
