LMC Honors Alumnae
Two Western Michigan University alumnae will be honored on Sunday, May 4 for their important contributions to the local community of Lake Michigan College. Both alumnae began their educational journeys at Lake Michigan College before attending WMU. The awards will be given during the College's 67th annual commencement exercise. 

Brenda Kniebes (BM '83, Music Education; MA '92, Elementary Teaching) is an elementary school music teacher who helps to organize her local Girls on the Run program, sponsors the Flags 4-H Club, and started 'Soup Suppers' as a way to raise money for her local food pantry. 

Dr. Susan Lentz (BS '93, Biomedical Sciences; Ph.D. '03, Biological Science) has leading edge experience in cancer research and has brought that knowledge back to the Lake Michigan College as an instructor, where she also helped upgrade labs and teaching tools to improve the educational 
quality in her department. 

Lake Michigan College is a regional two-year community college in Berrien County, Michigan. The main campus is in Benton Township, Michigan, and regional campuses are located in Benton Harbor, Bertrand Crossing (Niles), and South Haven.
