Originally, the plot involved a decent amount of filming in Kalamazoo," I really wanted to shoot a scene at Kline's bagels because I figured we would get free bagels, but then I found out it wasn't even open anymore. So I changed the scene to Martini's pizza," Weiner said.
The idea for the film came about while Weiner and Walsh were talking about a mutual friend, and decided he would make a great movie character.
"One day, Matt, who is one of the founders of the world famous UCB improv theatre, decided we should make it an improvised movie and he would direct it— and everyone in the comedy community loves Matt so he was able to get people like Rob Riggle, Horatio Sanz, Ed Helms, etc... to do small parts in the movie to help get it noticed."
The film has since been bought and distributed (more info can be found below).
This isn't Weiner's first project. He's been pretty active since leaving WMU.
"I wrote on a show Code Monkeys that was on the G4 network, a show called The Grid on IFC, and most recently a pilot for FX which, unfortunately, did not go to series. Also, lots of free-lance gigs and internet videos along the way. Stuff to pay the bills basically."
He also wrote a parody of the show Downton Abby, called Downton Arby. If you're wondering—yes, he has a sense of humor.
Weiner has also been involved with Spike TV's show, Manswers, as a writer and researcher, and G4's first ever narrative show, Code Monkeys.
When asked if he was living his dream Weiner, who originally wanted to be a lawyer, responded, "I don't know if I'm living the dream quite yet, but I'm definitely loving pursuing the dream. I love 'showbiz' and the friends and life style I've made."

Weiner's Most Interesting WMU memory:
"I was the manager of the basketball team for a week my freshman year. I thought I wanted to be a high school coach and teacher at the time. Well... I only lasted a week, mainly because I had to be there at 6 AM to do... I don't even know what... but it wasn't sleeping… did I mention I had to be there at 6 AM? "
Weiner also has a blog, which was featured in the Wall Street Journal, 'Diablo Cody's Star Wars.'
