In mid September, WMU Leadership gathered at the site of what will become the structure that houses the archives and regional history collections held by WMU. The gathering gave the center a name, the Charles C. and Lynn L. Zhang Legacy Collections Center.
Charles and Lynn Zhang both received Master's degrees from WMU. Charles is a managing partner of Zhang Financial in Portage. He and his wife, Lynn, serve on the WMU Foundation Board of Directors. Both are well known, internationally, in the financial arena.
The philanthropic generosity of the Zhangs, coupled with other gifts secured through the WMU Foundation, made the new legacy collections center a possibility. Ground was broken in mid July for the new structure.
