Western Michigan University news and updates for April 24 – 30, 2015. This week’s campus photo features a commencement ceremony from 2014.
On Saturday, May 2, some 2,700 students will graduate from WMU and become our newest cohort of alumni: roughly 2,100 at the bachelor’s level, 560 at the master’s level, and 40 doctoral degrees.
Miller Auditorium will host four ceremonies, each about two hours, that will include music by the Western Brass Ensemble conducted by Dr. Stephen M. Wolfinbarger, the national anthem and alma mater sung by Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and a welcome from WMU Alumni Association President, Mark Jackson.
All of the spring ceremonies will be broadcast live on Channel 5 of EduCABLE, the University's cable television system, and throughout the Kalamazoo area on Public Media Network Channel 99, a local public access channel on the Charter Communications commercial cable television system.
A live webcast of the ceremonies also will be available online the day of graduation. Read more at wmich.edu/news.
Congratulations and welcome to our 2015 graduates!
