Woodyard recently published his first book, “Wasted,” which is about functioning alcoholism. The book contains some explicit content to show people how detrimental the lifestyle of an alcoholic can be. He says he gained inspiration to write the book from seeing too many young people partying too much without realizing the consequences. He’s not telling people (of legal age) not to drink alcohol; he’s just trying to get people, especially young people, to be more aware of their surroundings, situation, and safety.
Woodyard wrote for the Western Herald when he was a student at WMU. After graduating, he returned to his hometown of Flint, Mich. to write for the local news. In addition, Woodyard works to give back to his community through his scholarship and community engagement.
“Wasted” is currently available on Amazon, CreateSpace, and Kindle.
