The Sustainable Endowments Institute has named Western Michigan University as one of the country's six top-performing colleges for energy savings and cutting greenhouse gas emissions. Read more here.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at WMU gets $1 million endowment.
The Bernhard Osher Foundation has awarded the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Western Michigan University a $1 million gift to set up an endowment in support of the communitywide effort that offers courses and trips to hundreds of area residents annually. Read more.

Men’s Basketball Downs San Diego, 74-62 For First Win.
The Western Michigan men’s basketball team got hot in the in second half, shooting 53.6 percent from the floor on the way to a 74-62 victory over visiting San Diego. With the win, Western Michigan improved its record to 1-1 on the year. Read more.
Women’s Basketball Defeats UW-Parkside 56-49 in Season Opener.
The Western Michigan women’s basketball team officially got 2015-16 underway with a 56-49 win over visiting Division II UW Parkside in the season opener Friday. Read more.
