The women were selected for their involvement in promoting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and career development to students and professionals.

Davis received a 2016 Community Service – Industry award at the Oct. 15 Detroit Women of Color conference. Consumers Energy was a title sponsor for the conference. She was recognized for using technology in a novel way to improve access to jobs and educational opportunities, and boosting understanding of technology’s potential to improve access to useful services, resources and information.
She has won two entrepreneurial competitions for a smart phone app called Giver that allows users to send money directly to a business for someone in need. She also founded a 501c3 nonprofit called Girls That Can to support and empower underrepresented girls who are interested in STEM.
Davis is also a mentor for a Detroit-area pre-college engineering program and participates in FIRST robotics, the Jackson Big Brother Big Sister program and is a member of the Society of Women Engineers.
“I have always been passionate about empowering young women and girls to be confident and invest in themselves through education and quality experiences,” Davis said.
Davis is a Systems Integration Specialist at Consumers Energy’s Jackson headquarters. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in University Studies from Western Michigan University.
