Honored at Montreux
The 47th Montreux Jazz Festival took place during mid July, and two Broncos were honored during the competition portion of the event. The Montreux Jazz Festival is the second largest annual Jazz Festival in the world, taking place in several individual venues in Montreux, Switzerland. Each year, the Festival include three international competitions in solo piano, guitar, and voice.

Matt Landon (BM '12, Jazz Studies) took third place in the Socar Montreux Jazz Electric Guitar Competition, and Logan Thomas (BM '07, Jazz Studies) was a semifinalist in the Parmigiani Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition.

A few noteworthy facts: Landon was one of only two semifinalists in the U.S. as well as one of the youngest competitors, while Thomas was the only U.S. representative in the Solo Piano Competition, which he won 2 years ago.
