Humanitarian Broncos

Humanitarian Broncos
Four Broncos recently returned from Oditel, Uganda. Although the humanitarian trip was not organized by WMU, all four Broncos had a great time talking with villagers about WMU.

Sara Cronin (Class of 2014), Andrea Meinema (BA '10, Sociology), Jessica Smith (Class of 2012) (pictured left to right) and not pictured: Caitlin Miller (BSN '10, Nursing) were all part of the trip.

The trip was organized by River Church in Kalamazoo, which has an ongoing partnership with the Village of Oditel. The group had most fun discussing all the ways they were both alike and different from the villagers. They also worked with children and discussed plans for microloans within the village.

Meinema, who has been to Africa twice, commented that the most important part of these trips is the appreciation she gains for all that she has, along with a desire to be happy with less.
