Outstanding Leadership

Michael Nienhuis (BS '09, Mechanical Engineering; MS '12, Mechanical Engineering) has been honored with the SAE International Rumbaugh Outstanding Student Leader Award. Nienhuis is now an engineer and involved in the Ford College Graduate Program for Product Development.

While a student at WMU, Nienhuis was involved with the Formula SAE and Baja SAE teams, serving as president for the WMU SAE student chapter from 2010-12.

SAE International is a global association of more than 138,000 engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive and commercial-vehicle industries.
