Seeking New Directors
The Western Michigan University Alumni Association Board of Directors is seeking new members for a three-year term (beginning July 1, 2013 and ending June 30, 2016). All alumni who have achieved a level of distinction in their careers and are well versed in related skills and knowledge are encouraged to submit a nomination. If you know of an appropriate candidate, you may also submit a nomination for that individual.

"I have been on the board for eight years and in that time I know I have made a difference for WMU, " says current board President, Phil Chludzinski. "The decisions we make—the actions we take, all help the University and I'm proud and honored to be a part of that. We want to open up that opportunity to other great WMU Alumni and I hope that we see some new faces in July."

As a member of the WMU Alumni Association Board of Directors, you will:

    • Serve as a voice for all Alumni
    • Establish and oversee policies for conducting business of the Association
    • Establish Association policy and procedure related to core functions and signature programs (awarding Legacy Scholarships and conferring Distinguished Alumni Awards)
    • Approve Association goals and contribute to the achievement of set goals
Directors are expected to attend board meetings at WMU, one before Homecoming and one in the Spring. Qualified candidates are passionate about WMU and willing to volunteer their time and energy for their Alma Mater.  They have a desire to connect fellow alumni with one another and serve as an ambassador for the University and the Association.
