The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a supportive and positive learning environment in which members are empowered to develop communication and greater leadership skills. These skills will help members be more self-confident and promotes personal growth.
“Toastmasters is the best kept secret!” Hunt said. “The cost is minimal and the experience is priceless. Because of the skills I acquired through Toastmasters, I was offered an excellent position during a difficult job market at FirstMerit PrivateBank.”
During her time with the Toastmasters Club, hunt has served as vice president of public relations, vice president of education, and vice president of membership. Hunt is also known for mentoring other members of the Toastmasters Club. Hunt is currently the executive assistant for the regional PrivateBank executive at FirstMerit Bank in Flint, Mich.
In her role as district public relations officer, Hunt will promote the cause of Toastmasters throughout the district. Hunt will also ensure that the members serving as vice president of public relations within their clubs are properly trained. The District 62 Toastmasters serves over 84 clubs and 1,900 members throughout Michigan.
“It’s a tremendous organization that gives back as much as you put into it,” Hunt said. “Toastmasters encouraged me to accept new roles and responsibilities I would’ve never considered possible or been interested in. The sky is the limit!”
