A Romantic Tradition

A Romantic Tradition
For years, East Campus has been an ideal location to 'pop the question,' and the newly renovated Heritage Hall is already proving to keep that tradition alive and well. Just a few weeks ago, Jordan Wegeler and Lindsay Fillar were at least the second couple to become engaged on the grounds surrounding Heritage Hall since it's October Grand Opening.

Lindsey thought they were simply taking some photographs on the Grand Lawn near the North Hall facade until she turned around. “When I turned and saw the signs it took me a couple seconds to realize they were for me, then I saw the word ‘marry’ and realized what was happening.”

It only took a few weeks to plan the proposal and thankfully everyone was around (even though a few had to switch work schedules) to help pull off the big surprise.

The couple has been dating since 2014 and plan to marry next fall.

“It was really cool to have the proposal in Kalamazoo because this is our home and our friends and family got to be a part of it!”

Congratulations, Lindsey and Jordan!
