Dr. Carley received a master's degree from Kalamazoo College and a doctorate from the University of Wisconsin. He was president of Inland Steel Development Corporation from 1969 through 1975 and served three years as president of the Medical College of Wisconsin.
He later presided over National Public Television. A recognized authority in regional/urban planning and resource development, he has shared his expertise with national and international agencies.
