Fred W. Adams, B.A. '32

Mr. Adams began his career as an assistant to a Michigan congressman before joining Consumers Power Company, Kalamazoo, as manager of employee relations and public relations.

In 1942, he was named director of advertising and public relations for Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit. When American Motors Corporation was organized in 1953, he was named its director of marketing.

He was appointed to WMU's first board of trustees in 1964 and served as its chairman three times in his 24 years of service.

Gerald A. Hale, B.S. '52

Mr. Hale is president of Hale Resources, Inc., an industrial/natural resource investment and management company. He is also chairman of Evans Clay Company, a mineral mining and processing company.

He has served as trustee, secretary, and vice president of the WMU Paper Technology Foundation.

Throughout his career, he has served as director for 11 international corporations.

Joseph M. Wepman, B.A. '31

Joseph M. Wepman, B.A. '31

Dr. Wepman received a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate from the University of Chicago.

He organized the speech pathology program at the University of Chicago in 1936 and was affiliated with that institution for more than 40 years.

A researcher and author, he developed numerous auditory tests and is recognized as one of the first scientists to address the need for comprehensive rehabilitation efforts in the field of aphasia.
