Mr. Dunham joined Bethlehem Steel Corporation in 1965 as a salesman in Buffalo, N.Y. Having earned a master's degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1969, he was transferred to Bethlehem, Pa., in 1971 where he served as salesman, product specialist, assistant manager and manager.
After another series of promotions, he was elected executive vice president and chief commercial officer in 1999, president and chief operating officer six months later, and in April, 2000, he became the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Bethlehem Steel.
