Gregory R. Anrig, B.A. '53

Dr. Anrig received both a master of arts and a doctoral degree from Harvard University. During his career he was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army, a teacher, a principal, and a public school superintendent.

He served for eight years as the commissioner of education for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

In 1981, he was named president of the Educational Testing Service, the world's largest private educational testing organization.

Mrs. Pershing also received a master's and a specialist's degree from WMU. Early in her career she was the chief occupational therapist at the Cerebral Palsy Center in Detroit.

She then directed the School of Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman's University. Under her leadership, it became one of the largest such programs in the world.

She was later named provost of the Institute of Health Sciences at TWU. In 1975, she was voted Occupational Therapist of the Year in Texas.

Steven C. Quay, B.A. '71

Dr. Quay received master's doctoral and medical degrees from the University of Michigan. He was a research fellow ad instructor of pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

In 1980, he joined the faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine. He holds twenty patents, including one for Omniscan, the world's first non-ionic MRI contrast agent.

In 1991, he founded Sonus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to commercialize novel diagnostic pharmaceuticals involving ultrasound.
