Alvin Loving, B.A. '31

Mr. Loving received a master's degree from Wayne State University. He taught high school in Detroit and later joined the college of education faculty at the University of Michigan, where he also served as assistant dean.

A Fulbright scholar, he was an exchange professor in India and the first dean of students at the University of Nigeria.

He was president of the National Association for Supervisions and Curriculum Development and was awards an honorary degree by WMU in 1964.

Mr. Duncan attended WMU in the late 1940s and began his career in 1950 at what is now First of America-Michigan. In 1952, he designed the bank's first credit card, the oldest such operation in the United States.

He became the bank's president and CEO in 1969 and its chairman in 1976. He was also named president and CEO, and later chairman, of First of America Bank Corporation, Michigan's first multi-bank holding company.

He served on the boards of numerous organizations including the WMU Foundation.

Willard A. Brown Jr., B.S. '53

Mr. Brown joined Arthur Rubloff & Company, Chicago in 1955 as a trainee. In 1965, he became vice president of the company.

He was elected president and CEO in 1980 and two years later was named chairman. Rubloff is one of the largest real estate companies in the United States.

He served on the boards of numerous civic and professional organizations and as chair of the WMU Foundation.
