Dr. Antonio R. Flores, M.A. '77

Dr. Flores received bachelor's degrees from two universities in Mexico and a doctorate from the University of Michigan. His entire career has been devoted to education, first as an elementary school teacher and later as a high school bilingual student advisor.

On the collegiate level, he has been both an instructor and program director. He served as a consultant and program director for the Michigan Department of Education for 18 years, before being named president and CEO of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities in 1996.

J. Thomas Dickinson, B.A. '63

Dr. Dickinson received a master's and a doctoral degree from the University of Michigan. He began his career as an assistant professor of physics at Washington State University in 1968, and in 2002, was named the Paul Anderson Distinguished Professor of Physics. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is the founding director of the Center for Materials Research at WSU.

Among his many honors, he was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society in recognition of his pioneering and innovative research.

Susan B. Anthony, B.M. '75

Susan B. Anthony has established a significant presence in the opera world, becoming a favorite of leading theatres in Paris, Tokyo, Madrid, Dresden and Vienna. She was named "Singer of the Year" in both 1995 and 1997 by Opernwelt magazine and has been described as possessing "a voice of pure honey shot with gold, as vast as a blaze of sunshine."
